저녁,밤 시간에 어울리는(6) "Restless Nights (Karla Bonoff)"

Karla Bonoff(칼라 보노프)가 1979년에 두 번째로 발표한 앨범,(이미 37년이 지났네요)

이 앨범에는 예전 1992년에 SBS에서 최재성, 고현정 주연의 드라마 "두려움 없는 사랑"에 삽입된

"The Water is Wide"가 삽입되어 있는 음반입니다.

대다수의 인터넷 자료와 블로거들의 글에는 거의 "The Water is Wide"의 주제가 많은데,

사실 이 앨범에 있는 10곡이 다 주옥같은 곡이거든요.

전 그 가운데서도 역시 타이틀 곡이기도 한 "Restless Nights"(잠 못 이루는 밤)을 추천합니다.

뭔가 이 곡을 들으면 도시의 밤거리가 떠올려지고,

끈적한(그렇다고 퇴폐적이라고는 할 수 없는) 밤의 모습이 연상이 되는군요.

밤시간에 듣게 되면 

특히 우수에 젖게 되는 음악,

안타깝게도 칼라 보노프는 2010년 8월에 60세의 나이로 세상을 떠납니다.

그럼에도 불구하고 여전히 그녀의 목소리는 감성의 호소력이 짙군요..........

저도 지금 잠이 안 올 정도로 몸도 그렇고 마음도 고생중인데,

이 음악을 들으면서 오히려 잠을 청해봐야 할 것 같습니다.
